DEPARTMENTAL ASSOCIATIONS



COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

REACT (Rising Engineers Association on Computer Technology) REACT, an internal association of the students of the Computer Science & Engineering branch intends to identify and develop the inborn talents in students in the area of Computer Technology. Two different clubs namely Computer Literacy Club and Software Development Club are also functioning under this association, managed by the students under the coordination of the faculty.

Computer Society of India (CSI)
The CS&E department has become the member of the Professional body – Computer Society of India (CSI). The student chapter of this professional body is very active and more than 200 students are now members of this Association. Many programs that lead to the intellectual, technical and personal development of the students are being conducted under the auspices of this association.

APPLIED ELECTRONICS & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING

The AEI department organizes National Level Seminars & Conferences in emerging areas of Instrumentation and Biomedical engineering for students and teachers. The students’ association organizes annual contests in Hardware Design & Development, real-time interface of process with PLC & PC based monitoring of biomedical parameters, etc. as well as Technical Paper Presentations.

ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

la massue electronique - The Electronics Students’ Association of PAACET aims for a platform to bring out the technical and cultural talents of the students of the department. This Association has conducted a number of seminars about the recent trends in Electronics and Communication like embedded system, fuzzy logic, VHDL programming , image processing etc., by eminent personalities in this field. Industrial visits to various well reputed organizations like VSSC, HAL, CDAC etc, are organized on regular basis. In addition to the normal syllabus routine experiments, our department inspires and gives proper guidance for developing technical skills like mini projects and seminars in the field of Communication and Instrumentation. Seminars covering latest developments and trends in the above fields are being organized for the students.

CIVIL ENGINEERING

LIVICX
The Civil Engineering Department of PAACET took the pride in the inauguration of the Civil Engineering Association LIVICX in April 2007. The Cultural fest CYNOSURF 07 was also inaugurated on the same day by none other than Padmasree Bharat Gopi.

ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

ELECTRA
The Electrical & Electronics Association – ELECTRA, had its formation in the year 2005 with a sole intention of students getting exposed to the advancement in various fields of interests. It started off the journey with a seminar on ‘Energy Management’ followed by another one on ‘Bioinformatics’ in 2006. ELECTRA conducted an intercollegiate quiz competition - XPLIKAT ’06 and ‘Signature ‘07’ – a national level technical and cultural contest. This association actively participates in the conduct of PAACET Festival, in organizing both technical and cultural events.

CIVIL ENGINEERING

SMART
There is a well-organized students’ association SMART - Stalwart Mexx Association of Royal Technocrats engaged in conducting various national seminars, intercollegiate quiz competitions, Motor shows and various other extra curricular activities. SMART conducted technical talks in association with Kuttukaran Automobile Academy on topics related with advanced automobile technology. SMART conducted an introductory talk about modelling and design analysis in association with CADDCENTRE, Trivandrum . SMART conducted motor shows ROADKILL 06 and ROADKILL 07. SMART is also running a blood donation centre as its commitment towards the society. Every week, they are providing at least two donors for this life saving purpose. Various hospitals in the cities recommended and appreciated the activities of blood donating centre of SMART. The activities of SMART are controlled and guided by an executive council including staff & students.
